The Brand

Mavericks is a boutique agency that has been in business for over 25 years, and is a one stop shop for their clients. Mavericks has an in-house printer and creates everything from marketing strategies, advertisements, print and OOH signage, to new media, environmental design and digital experiences. One of the creative directors even had experience with engineering and would help clients design their bricks and mortar stores!

The Challenge

Mavericks had amazingly loyal customers who often referred business; however, they wanted to expand their services to clients in other industries.

The Solution

As a way to gain new interest, we launched a social media campaign during the busy holiday months.‘How The Adman Stole The Holidays’ was an ode to the classic How The Grinch Stole Christmas, with story elements replaced by our Creative Directors’ personalities, office pup and office antics. Everyday we would release a new image on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with a story caption and a teaser envelope for the following day. We even created a parody twitter account for the Adman, which showcased his grumpy behaviour while pushing a link to our Instagram account.

We teased content on Twitter and Facebook.
Two images were posted each day, a story post and a teaser.
The following day, the teaser was replaced with a new story post.
Our clients were provided with a link to a digital copy of the story.
Each image was taken on site, with many of the images showing parts of the office.

The Numbers

Our follower count may not have grown by much, but Mavericks did land three new clients; and through sending a digital ebook of the story to existing clients, many were excited about trying other services and the creativity that Mavericks could bring to their campaigns.
